On Wednesday, April 10, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a deputy with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office stating a woman in his jurisdiction received a text message from a man known to her advising of child molestation and aggravated child molestation at an unknown Colbert location.
The case was turned over to the investigations division for follow-up.
Other incidents investigated by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office last week include:
•Possession of marijuana, driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs and adult seatbelt requirement – 18 years of age and over were reported on Hwy. 72 West, Colbert, where a motor vehicle accident with injuries took place.
•A woman on Stapler Road, Athens, reported a deposit account fraud incident that caused her bank account to be “frozen.” The woman said she completed an online application for what she thought was Frito Lay for employment. She received a paycheck from again whom she thought to be Frito Lay in the amount of $4,190.56. She then deposited said check into her bank account and later learned the check was fraudulent.
•An abandoned vehicle was located on McCarty Dodd Road, Danielsville, and was towed from the scene.
•A man on Hudson River Church Road, Danielsville, reported that a man he has a Temporary Protective Order (TPO) against violated the TPO when he put two signs on the edge of the road near the complainant’s house wanting the female resident at the home to call him.
•Terroristic threats and acts were reported at a home on Kimberly Circle, Hull.
•A woman reported a hit and run; duty to stop at the scene of an accident, leaving the scene of an accident on Hwy. 98 at Hwy. 106, Ila, after her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle that left the scene.
•Assist Crisis Intervention personnel responded to a Colbert Danielsville Road, Colbert, residence, where a 65-year-old man was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center for taking a large amount of diabetic medicine after having thoughts of suicide.
•Threats and a possible fight were reported at a home on Madison Boulevard, Colbert, where threats had reportedly been made to “shoot up” or “spray” the house with bullets. The woman suspected of the threats said she never threatened to shoot anyone. Due to conflicting stories and no one having proof that any threat had actually been made, no charges were sought for anyone.
•A safety checkpoint was conducted on Norwood Road at Amberly Drive, Hull, and 19 vehicles were checked.
•A suspicious vehicle/road rage complaint was received from a certified law enforcement officer traveling on Wesley Chapel Road, Danielsville. The officer said a vehicle was following him and had nearly side-swiped his vehicle. It appeared to be a mistaken identity incident as the woman said she was following the vehicle because she believed it was her son’s car.
•Battery/simple battery – Family Violence Act (FVA) was reported on Hwy. 29 North, Danielsville.
•A vehicle fire was reported on Providence Church Road, Danielsville.
